Adding and Managing Content

Content is added, edited and deleted using the WordPress Admin panel and there is no need to upload content using ftp as it is all done via the web browser based editor.

Posts and Pages

When you add new content to WordPress you can choose between a Page and a Post.

WordPress initial design was for blogging and a blog consists of journal type entries organised by time. Entries were made in the form of posts and WordPress automatically organised these posts by date/time.

So if you are making blog entries use posts.

Pages are meant to be used like static pages on a standard website. They use a different template than posts but generally you won't see much difference when you view them.

They don't appear as part of the blog and so you are responsible for linking to the pages manually.
